Beryl R. McBride of Harrisburg died Monday, June 4, 2012, at his home. He was 90.

He was born Oct. 3, 1921, in rural Howard County, the son of Oswald and Azile Rupard McBride. He married Betty Jean Dixon June 13, 1944, in Corpus Christi, Tex., and she preceded him in death Sept. 13, 2006. Mr. McBride was a member and past Deacon of Harrisburg Baptist Church. He served his country as a Navy Trainer Pilot in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1942-1946, and was a member of both American Legion and V.F.W.  He was a retired Rural Mail Carrier and attended both State and National Conventions as a delegate.  He also served as Treasurer for the Harrisburg School Board of Education for over 25 years.

Survivors include two sons: Terry McBride of Harrisburg, and Clint (wife Julie) McBride of Washington, MO. One daughter: Nancy (husband Larry) Wilcoxson of Harrisburg. Four grandchildren: Trevor, Taylor, Alex McBride of Washington, MO., and Jason Wilcoxson of Lees Summitt, MO. Four great grandchildren: Jordan, Kelsey, Emily, and Abby Wilcoxson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Wayne Eugene, grandson, Jeffrey Wilcoxson, a sister Joan McBride Endecott, and brothers Gerald and Merle McBride.
