The annual Fayette Festival of the Arts drew in crowds from all over Mid-Missouri on Saturday. The festival featured music, artwork, a quilt show, a cake contest and auction, magic, a car show, and an array of food and craft vendors. Adult art show entries were featured in the esteemed Ashby-Hodge Gallery of American Art on the Central Methodist University Campus. Youth works were displayed inside the historic Howard County Courthouse, around which music and merriment carried on throughout the day. Musical highlights included the Columbia Community Band, Show Me Brass, and Just Friends jazz combo. Visitors were able to travel three blocks up Church Street to see more than 200 quilts adorning the sanctuary of Linn Memorial United Methodist Church.
Additional photos appear on pages 4 and 5 of the e-edition and print newspaper.
