ACE Salon & Spa opens for business

A new beauty salon is now open a block north of the downtown Fayette square. Three friends, Abby Nation, Chloe Huster, and Emma Chew, officially opened ACE Salon & Spa on Saturday. The Fayette Chamber of Commerce hosted a formal ribbon cutting on Friday.

The full-service salon will feature beauty services, including hair care, cosmetic skin treatments, and tanning at the corner of Church and Elm Streets.

Emma Chew is a licensed esthetician. Nation is a licensed cosmetologist, and Huster will graduate from cosmetology school in June. Another esthetician, Dawnann Hager, also works at the salon. The salon will feature everything from hair styling and tanning, waxes, and massages to LED light therapy and skin treatments.

The three friends are all recent Fayette High School graduates. Huster and Chew graduated last May, and Nation graduated in 2021.

“Abby decided to go to cosmetology school. And then Emma decided to go in to start a business together,” Huster explained. “And then I joined in.”

Chew said the three follow in one another’s footsteps. “Abby started a trend. And we thought, Fayette is kind of boring, so let’s bring some life to it.”

The business has been a year in the making. The three first toured the building in February 2022. “We got right in and started painting and working,” said Huster. “It’s been a long time coming.”

Most customers will enter the building through the Elm Street entrance. Another door on the Church Street side will allow customers of the salon’s 24-hour tanning service to enter via a biometric lock.

ACE Salon & Spa is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and is already filling up with appointments. The salon will be available by appointment on Saturdays. Customers should call (660) 728-0760 to make an appointment. A website is in the works that will allow customers to book appointments online.
