Administrator advocates for city in meeting with state legislators

Posted

Fayette City Administrator Tyler Griffith spent two days at the State Capitol in Jefferson City last month, where he met with local legislators and was introduced to the Missouri House. The event, sponsored by the Missouri Municipal League, allowed for state and local officials to discuss policies.

Griffith was named the city’s new administrator in July following the departure of longtime administrator Robin Triplett in the wake of fines in excess of $150,000 charged to the city for her failure to file financial reports with the state. One of the bills Griffith discussed with newly sworn-in house member Tim Taylor, R-Boonville, was HB441, which would allow for a one-time downward adjustment for such fines.

Griffith was introduced to the Missouri House by Rep. Willard Haley, R-Eldon, a former teacher at Eldon High School from where Griffith was graduated.
