Artists are being sought for the 20th annual Adult Art Show as part of the Fayette Festival of the Arts. The show will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, at the Ashby/Hodge Gallery in Classic Hall on the Central Methodist University campus.

Categories are Painting in Oil/Acrylic, Painting in Watercolor, Drawing, Photography, Sculpture, and Varied Media. All categories are in both professional and amateur classes.

Entries may be dropped off at the Gallery from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday, July 31, and Tuesday, August 1.

The Fayette Festival of the Arts is scheduled for Saturday, August 5, in Downtown Fayette. It features adult and children's art shows, live music at the bandstand, food trucks, vendors, a cake contest and raffle, a classic car show, and this year, a special Bicentennial presentation as Fayette celebrates its 200th birthday.

The festival culminates on the lawn of the Howard County Courthouse in downtown Fayette. The sound of the brass and woodwinds of the Columbia Community Band can be heard starting at noon every year of the festival.
