Alcohol-related infractions keep Fayette Police Dept. busy

The Fayette Police Department reported several recent arrests which took place Saturday night or early Sunday morning unless otherwise noted:

Carter J. Demay, 22, of Fayette, was cited for peace disturbance at a party held at his residence. Officers ordered visitors to the party to disperse. Demay was issued a summons.

Tyler A. Karnes, 19, of St. James, was stopped for a traffic violation. Upon investigation, officers cited Karnes for driving while intoxicated. Karnes was given a summons.

Two passengers in the car with Karnes were also cited. Amanda Branson, 20, of Koelztown, Mo., and Austin Gardner, 19, were also visibly intoxicated. They were given summons and released.

Officers were called to the Central Methodist University campus by CMU officials regarding two individuals at a campus parking lot. After investigation, Anthony R. Perrett, 20, of Columbia, was cited and released for being a minor in possession of an intoxicant. Also involved was Jacob Edward Minor, 21, of Lamont, Mo., who admitted to purchasing and giving alcohol to Perrett. Minor was taken to the Howard County Jail where he posted a $500 cash bond and was released with a citation for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Officers were called by CMU officials to a campus parking lot concerning two individuals. Upon investigation, Trey T. Thomas, 19, (home address unknown), and Rachael S. Carter, 19, from Memphis, Tenn., were issued citations for being minors in possession of intoxicants.

Steven J. Jackson, 22, of Chandler, Ariz., was cited for peace disturbance. He was hosting a party where about 100 people were present. Some of the guests were running through neighbors’ yards. Officers ordered visitors to the party to disperse. Jackson was issued a summons.

Ryan D. Farrell, 19, of Sedalia, was cited for minor in possession of intoxicant through consumption. He was issued a summons.

James Earl Harris, 21, at a residence on West Davis Street, was cited for hosting a party that could be heard more than a block away. Officers went to the residence the next day and learned that Harris had given them false information the night before. Further charges against Harris are pending.

Other FPD citations:
  • Samuel L. Huntley, 19, of Columbia, was issued a citation on Aug. 17 for being a minor in possession of an intoxicant.
  • Brandon J. Hazlett, 19, of Carthage, Mo., was issued a citation on Aug. 20 for possession of marijuana, 35 grams or less.
  • On Aug. 21, CMU faculty called officers to a campus housing facility concerning students consuming alcohol. Upon investigation, officers cited three persons for being minors visibly intoxicated and in possession of alcohol: Jamie K. Ward, 18, of Lee’s Summit; Elysse Jinkens, 18, of Blue Springs; and Kyle Nolawski, 19, of Versailles.
The Howard County Sheriff’s Department reported the following recent arrests:
  • Brandon M. Blackwell, 25, of Franklin, was arrested Saturday for domestic assault in the third degree, second offense. He was taken to the Howard County Jail and later released with a summons. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Rebecca A. Miller, 36, of Boonville, was arrested on a Howard County warrant for violating provisions of her probation. Her original charge is nonsupport (Class D felony). She is in the Howard County Jail on a $25,000 cash-surety bond.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the following recent arrest:
  • David S. Lewis, 20, of New Franklin, was arrested Friday, 10:53 p.m., for being a minor who was visibly intoxicated. He was taken to the Howard County Jail and later released.
