Former Armstrong resident Alice Tomlin passed away on October 19, 2022, at Glasgow Gardens. She was 91 years of age.
Alice Jo Tomlin was born July 30, 1931, in Noble, Illinois, to Paul and Nettie (Webber) Whitaker. She was a graduate of Noble High School and attended Lincoln Christian College. She married Richard G. Tomlin on April 22, 1952, in Lincoln, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on April 12, 2007. Alice’s husband was a flight simulator technician for Western and Delta Airlines for 29 years. The couple moved to Armstrong in 1992. Alice enjoyed croqueting, playing the organ, singing in the choir, and reading her Bible daily.
Alice is survived by three daughters, Kathleen (Jeff) Phillips of Santiago, Chile, Eleanor (Kevin) Troutt of Boise, Idaho, and Rebecca (Joe) Morgan of Bruce, Wisconsin; and one son, Richard G. (Tracy) Tomlin, Jr of Hollister, California; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Whitaker.
A funeral service honoring Alice’s life will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette, with Rev. Harold Young officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery near Armstrong, Missouri.
