A longstanding Halloween tradition will return to Fayette this year. The GFWC Golden Study Club will once again host its annual Halloween parade and costume contest at the courthouse. The event, which has been a Fayette tradition since 1954, was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event kicks off with costume judging at 3 p.m. on Halloween. Children up to 12 years of age are invited to participate. Cash prizes will be awarded to the three best costumes in the age categories of 0-2 years, 3 to 5 years, 6 to 8 years, and 9 to 12 years. Treat bags will be provided to participants following the judging.
Main Street’s Trunk or Treat event will follow the costume judging at 5 p.m. on the east side of the courthouse square.
