Area churches make changes to Christmas services

Posted

With the holiday season in full swing, many local parishioners are wondering where they can attend Christmas worship services during this outbreak of Covid. Many churches across the nation have closed down in-person services amid the ongoing pandemic.

Locally, several houses of worship have made adjustments to adhere to guidelines in order to host Christmas and Christmas Eve services. The Fayette Advertiser reached out to every church in the county and surrounding communities to find out what services, if any, would be held. Some churches will hold in-person services, but most will not. Virtual services are also planned.

The following is a list of churches that have announced Christmas plans.

Armstrong First Baptist Church

The annual Christmas Cantata has been canceled for 2020, but an in-person service will be held on Christmas Day.

New Franklin

There will be a short Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. on December 24. The annual Birthday Party for Jesus will be held during morning worship at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20. During this special time, church members present their gifts. There will be songs, readings, testimonies, etc.
