Public flu clinic to be held Thursday in New Franklin
The Howard County Health Department will host a public flu clinic at the New Franklin Senior Center on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Cost is $20 for non-Medicaid or non-Medicare clients.
Health experts recommend that persons 6 months of age and older get a flu vaccine every year. It will provide protection that lasts through the flu season. The vaccine is updated each year to protect against the three flu viruses that research indicates will cause the most illness.
Also, individuals may check with their doctor’s office for availability.
Flu shots are available at the department, either by appointment or walk-in, on Mondays and Wednesdays.
