Barbara Viola Brooks born March 4, 1939, passed away Saturday evening January 22, 2022 peacefully at her home in Armstrong, Missouri surrounded by loved ones. 

She was married to Robert Eugene Brooks just two months shy of what would have been their 50th Wedding Anniversary. 

She has three children Katherine Garrett, Timothy Cundiff, Ricky Cundiff and two step-children Ronald Brooks and Holly Kirkendoll; nine grandchildren Michael Garrett, Kevin Garrett, Brittany Miller, Austin Cundiff, Cole Cundiff, Cyle Cundiff, Jordan Kindle and Shelby Kirkendoll; four great grandchildren Kenley New, Charlotte Miller, Elijay Garrett and Samuel Garrett. She has three siblings Darrell Schermerhorn, Darlene Schermerhorn and Caroline Habrovsky. 

She was preceded in death by her mother Mildred Schermerhorn and father Gordon Schermerhorn, her son Timmy Cundiff, her brother Darrel Schermerhorn and sister Darlene Schermerhorn. 

She had a variety of jobs in her lifetime, working as a personnel manager for 7-11 stores in Kansas City, Missouri, office manager at Kellers Office Supply, but her most satisfying job was her role as an Administer for 25 years at the Higbee Senior Center where she was instrumental in procuring the new Senior Center and Adult Daycare in Higbee, Missouri.

Barbara loved her family, cooking big meals, gardening, painting when time allowed, helping on the farm and especially caring for the baby calves, raccoons and stray kittens that came along. 

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Thursday January 27, 2022 at Pathway-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
