A special fundraiser is in the works for Fayette resident and businessman Paul Beeler, who is battling renal cancer.
A dinner and auction will take place on Saturday, January 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church Hall in Fayette. More than 35 gift baskets have already been donated for the silent auction. The live auction will feature handmade quilts, framed prints for noted artists Penny Brown and Rachel Brown, two rings handcrafted from vintage silver coins, a portable air tank, laser cut signs by Andrew Monnig, woodworking pieces, a Snap-On car kit, a camping table, dozing work by Darren Fuemmeler, a battery pack jump starter from O’Reilly Auto Parts, gift cards from local businesses including Emmet’s, Miknan’s, Beckett’s, Home Oil, The Beak, and Abbey’s, a fire pit, a fishing chair donated by Bass Pro Shops, and more. Other items will be raffled off throughout the event.
Chili and chili dogs, coleslaw, cornbread, and desserts will be on the menu. Free-will donations will be accepted for meals.
“We encourage people to come out and support the family,” said Laura Lewis, family member and event organizer.
Mr. Beeler is the owner of B&B Auto Body, located on State Route DD just south of Fayette. He is a native of Glasgow and currently lives in Fayette with his wife, Tammy. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 renal cancer in November. Proceeds from the event will assist the Beeler family with expenses during his time undergoing treatment.
