More than 200 area youngsters joined in the fun at the annual Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt held Saturday morning at the Fayette City Park.
Kids in five age groups captured around 2,000 plastic eggs that were filled by Endless Options. The eggs contained candy and $120 in quarters.
The eggs’ contents were paid for by $495 worth of donations. Prizes were handed out to participants, and everyone was treated to a free ice-cream cone from Dairy Queen.
“The town did a tremendous job and really stepped up,” said event organizer Carolyn Hazlett.
