Building Inspector Resigns

Posted
Blake Spry, a Harrisburg resident who has served as Fayette's building inspector since last October, has resigned.

It was not immediately known what triggered the resignation or when it might take effect.

A position opening announcement is posted on the classified page of today's newspaper. Applications will remain open until May 14.

The job normally entails about 30 hours of work per week.

The inspector's position has taken on increased visibility in recent months with the enactment of a rental inspection ordinance. In addition, the city is experiencing new construction and is involved in the revitalization of the town square and other areas of historic preservation.
