The Central Methodist volleyball program announced   the additon of 18 Eagles to the 2021 varsity and reserve rosters. Of the 18, 15 are freshmen, along with one sophomore and two juniors.

Central volleyball announces roster newcomers

The Central Methodist volleyball program announced  the additon of 18 Eagles to the 2021 varsity and reserve rosters. Of the 18, 15 are freshmen, along with one sophomore and two juniors.

Of the freshmen class, five players have an area connection. 

Hannah Marcee of St. James was a three-time All-District selection and two-time All-Conference while at St. James High School.

Allie Schulte of Marshall was a member of Marshall’s 2020 conference championship team and a two-time All-Conference and All-District team while playing for Marshall High School.

Renee Finke, from Montgomery County High School, was All-Conference in volleyball and was also a member of the volleyball Academic All-State team.

Sam Doisy of Columbia made Academic All-State while being a member of the Rock Bridge conference and district championship teams in 2020.

Rhakala Blackmon of Jefferson City was named to the Ozark Grand Slam All-Tournament team while playing for Jefferson City high school.

The lone sophomore addition, Sydney Healy, is transferring from Johnson County Community College in Kansas City, Missouri. Sydney was a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division II national Championship team with JCCC in 2020 and was chosen for the All-Tournament team. She averaged 1.7 blocks per set in 2020.

Gigi Sasso a junior is a transfer from Cisco Junior College in Cisco Texas. Sasso is a native of Porto Alegre, Brazil and is a two-time All-Region and All-Conference selection as well as the 2019 Region Freshman of the Year.

Yaire Maysonet comes to CMU from Catano, Puerto Rico via Frontier Community College in Fairfield, Illinois. Maysonet was a four-time Honor Roll student-athlete and was named to the NJCAA Academic team for maintaining a 3.8-3.99 GPA. Maysonet collected 237 digs while at FCC.

The remaining freshman additions are:

Yenne Schepers of Belgium, a three-time selection to the Belgian Youth National Team.

Gabi Owczarek of Poland who qualified for the Junior Championships of Poland.

Kaitlyn Witthar of Springfield, a second team all district player for Springfield Catholic High that reached the state semifinals her senior year.

Bella Fuller, an All-State, All-District and All-Conference selection her senior year while leading Reed Springs High School to a state championship appearance.

Aubrey Calhoun from Bell City High School in Oran, Missouri was an All-District player while being named top defensive player her senior year.

Tia Campanelli of Fairbanks, Alaska was named 2018 Alaska State Championship Player of the Game.

Audrey Griffin of Independence led her Fort Osage team in aces and assists while winning a district championship.  She
