A Glasgow man is in the Howard County Jail facing felony charges of first-degree property damage and second-degree burglary. Corey Minnis, 33, was arrested on August 23 by members of the Howard County Sheriff’s Department. He remains in jail on a cash-only bond of $25,000.
According to a probable cause statement by Glasgow Police officer Joshua Lafferty, Minnis used a sharp object to cause damage to window screens, patio furniture, an air conditioner, a bed, and a sofa at the residence of his ex-girlfriend in Glasgow. He was also captured on camera inside the house, where he allegedly cut the power cord to a television and plugged up the kitchen sink before turning on the faucet to cause water to leak onto the floor. He also allegedly slashed two car tires at the residence.
Inside the house, Minnis also allegedly damaged an Apple Watch and stole cash.
Damages to the home were in excess of $750, according to the PC statement.
The events occurred in mid-August.
Minnis is also being held on a $10,000 cash-only bond for a probation violation stemming from a charge in March of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, a Class D felony (see above story). He was placed on five years probation after pleading guilty on July 13.
Minnis was one of three people who fled a Glasgow residence before officers from the East Central Drug Task Force could execute a narcotics search warrant in March.
A reduction of Minnis’s bond was denied on August 26, since he is already on felony probation, according to online court documents.
Minnis has yet to secure the services of an attorney. He is scheduled to appear before Judge James Cooksey in Howard County court for a preliminary hearing at 10:30 a.m. on October 28.
