A Glasgow man was charged on Friday with a misdemeanor after allegedly passing a fake $100 bill at the Casey’s convenience store in that city.
Vincent Michael Bonanata, 41, faces one charge of counterfeiting, a Class A misdemeanor, after admitting to passing the fake bill on April 21.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Officer T.J. Livermore, Bonanata admitted upon questioning by police to passing the counterfeit bill, and said he found the funny money in his roommate’s room and believed it to be real. Printed upon the fake bill was: “This is not legal tender,” “For motion picture purposes,” and “Copy.”
Bonanata is scheduled to appear before Judge Mason Gebhardt and Howard County Court at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29. If convicted, he faces up to one year in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,000.
