Church Building to Be Sold at Auction

Posted
A church will be sold at auction on the courthouse steps Friday, April 2.
A bank has foreclosed on the Church of God in Christ. The building is on the southwest corner of the intersection of South Mulberry and East Walnut, about one block southeast of the courthouse.
The building has been unused for several years.
Courthouse records show the church borrowed $6,000 from a local bank in 1992. The records indicate the note has not been repaid. At that time, the note was signed by two church officers, Frank L. Wright Jr. as president, and Ethel Bentley as secretary.
The auction will begin on the south steps of the Howard County Courthouse at 2 p.m.
