The City of Fayette has hired former Howard County Clerk Kathyrne Harper to help the city account for ARPA funding.
The city received around $495,000 from the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act that was signed into law by President Biden on March 11, 2021.
“I’m having some trouble getting all of our quarterly and monthly reports done for our ARPA funding,” Fayette City Clerk Tara Kunze told the city council at its most recent regular meeting on Tuesday, May 24, and recommended hiring Kathyrne Harper to help with the task. “She’s very smart at what she does, and she knows exactly what she’s doing,” Kunze said.
Harper, a former Certified Public Accountant, has been working in a similar capacity with the Howard and Randolph counties, as well as municipalities in Randolph County. The council gave unanimous approval of Harper’s bid at $65 per hour for accounting and consulting services for the city’s accounting and reporting of accounting funds.
