On Monday, Nov. 13, the City of Fayette received a check in the amount of $7,498.82 from the Missouri Public Utility Commission, presented to the city by the Missouri Rural Water Association.
The City of Fayette is a member of the Missouri Rural Water Association (MRWA) the Administrator of the Missouri Public Utility Commission (MPUC) Interim Loan Program. The MPUC provided the construction funding that allowed the city to complete a wastewater improvement project. The check received by the city from the Missouri Public Utility Commission is a rebate of interest costs during the construction of the improvements.
“This is a culmination of years of hard work with federal and state agencies to keep our wastewater system in compliance and to continue to provide safe, healthy wastewater services to our residents,” said Mike Dimond, Assistant to the Mayor.
Dimond thanked the staff and elected officials, current and past, who brought this project to completion. He also gave a special shout-out to the United States Department of Agriculture-Rural Development, particularly Denise Green, for her tireless assistance and for making this project affordable to the residents of the City of Fayette.
Drinking Water Circuit Rider Melody Molder of the Missouri Rural Water Association commented that “The City of Fayette has been a member of MRWA for years, and the Missouri Public Utility Commission Interim Loan Program is one of the many member benefits offered by MRWA. A special thanks to D.A. Davidson & Co. for their continued support and efforts in making the Interim Loan Program a success.”
