Clark Middle School distance runner Liam Betts is making waves in the spring track season. He recently broke the school record in the 1600 meters as a seventh-grader and has his sights set on putting his name to more bench marks.
On April 24, he set a new standard in the mile race with a time of 5:08.94, just topping the old record of 5:09.00. With one meet left on the season, Betts said he is hoping to break his own record.
