The Central Methodist Department of Athletics hosted its first in-person alumni event this summer with the return of the 30th annual Dr. James M. Luetjen Golf Tournament, held Saturday, June 5 at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville.
The event, which was canceled last summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic, featured 27 teams and served as an opportunity for CMU Athletics to reconnect with alumni and raise funds for the department for the upcoming year.
“We had a perfect day for golf last Saturday, and it was so great to have everyone come together again for the 30th Annual Dr. James M. Luetjen Golf Tournament,” said Vice President for Student Life and Athletics Natasha Wilson
“I continue to be amazed by the support for our student-athletes from our alumni and community. It was especially meaningful to have Dr. Luetjen and his family there to celebrate with us. We would like to send a special thank you to all of our participants and sponsors for their continued support of CMU Athletics and for making this event possible.”
The next CMU Athletics alumni event will be the Celebrating Eagles Athletics Auction, set for Friday July 16 inside Puckett Field House. To register for the auction, go to cmueagles.com.
CMU is currently seeking silent and live-auction donations of sports memorabilia, golfing adventures, art, vacation/travel opportunities, interesting local and regional experiences, and more. To donate items, for the auction, go to www.cmueagles.com under the Fan Zone tab.
