Behind four double-digit scoring performances, the Central Methodist men's basketball program picked up a 79-72 road victory over rival Missouri Valley College Saturday afternoon in Marshall, Mo.

Central improves its overall record to 11-2 and 3-1 in conference play, while the Vikings fall to 9-3 and 1-2 in the Heart.

Trailing by five points with a little over five minutes remaining in the second half, Central went on a 6-0 scoring run to take a 65-64 lead. The Vikings evened the score at 66-66.

CMU scored five-straight points on buckets from senior Tim Cameron and graduate Fode Camara to take a 71-66 lead at the 1:05 mark. Missouri Valley trimmed the lead to as few as three on two different occasions, but the Eagles converted their final six free-throw attempts in the closing moments to secure the seven-point victory.

Camara led the offense with 19 points on an outstanding 80-percent shooting from the field, and made three-of-four from the charity stripe. He also added five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Cameron followed with 17 points on eight-of-11 shooting from the floor.

Sophomore Jonathan Brown tallied 12 points and dished out a team-high six assists. Freshman Thomas Sowoolu rounded out the double-digit scorers for Central with 10 points and a team leading 12 rebounds, good enough to earn a double-double.

Sophomore Isaiah May filled the stat sheet with nine points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals in 38 minutes of action.

CMU was efficient from the field, converting 30 of 59 field goal attempts (50.8%). As a team, Central dished out 20 assists on its 30 made field goal attempts. The Eagles also made 31 trips to the free-throw line compared to just seven attempts for Missouri Valley.

Central is next set to face Rochester in a non-conference contest at 5 p.m. on Friday in Livonia, Mich.
