CMU renews agreement with Jefferson College JC

Posted

A longstanding articulation agreement between Central Methodist University and Jefferson College (JC) was renewed on April 27, allowing for a continued partnership between the schools.

With the agreement, the institutions seek to assist students in making a seamless transfer from the associate to the baccalaureate degree by clarifying transfer policies and procedures between programs. For JC students entering focused programs, CMU will credit designated JC courses as defined in the agreement.

“We’re grateful to have such a strong relationship with our friends at Jefferson College,” said Dr. Rita Gulstad, CMU provost, who joined JC President Dr Dena McCaffrey and Vice President Dr. Chris DeGeare in signing the agreement. “We’re both committed to providing a seamless and supportive transfer experience.”

The agreement specifically provides guidelines for the transfer of the Associate of Arts, Associate of Arts in Teaching, and Associate of Applied Science degrees. It also adds JC’s Associate of Science in Biology, which can now transfer easily into Central’s Bachelor of Science in Biology program.

Central’s partnership with Jefferson College is just one of many articulation agreements between the university and Missouri’s community colleges to aid in students’ transfers to the four-year institution.
