The Central Methodist softball team held steady at No. 11 in the second edition of the NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 poll, announced by the national office last Wednesday.
The only other Heart program featured in the Top 25 poll is No. 13 Grand View. CMU has jumped out to a 13-4 overall mark and a 5-1 record in Heart action.
Collectively, Central has combined to score 114 total runs. The Lady Eagles also rank in the top ten in the NAIA in both batting average at .372, and on base percentage at .433.
CMU's pitching staff has been one of the best in the nation early in 2022, tossing seven total shut outs and holding opponents to a .172 batting average, ranking them No. 2 in the country. Senior starter Keighlan Cronin and freshman Mykala Johnico have accounted for three no-hitters between them.
