Central Methodist University will host a ribbon cutting on Saturday, September 10 for the newly-renovated Estes Field. A multi-million project to renovate baseball field and Cox Softball Complex on campus is underway.
Both fields are being overlayed with new artificial turf that will allow games to be played in virtually any weather.
Eagles baseball coach Nate Breland said that once complete, CMU will have one of the best complexes in the NAIA.
The unveiling will begin with a presentation of 2021 NAIA World Series rings to the CMU baseball team at noon. The ribbon cutting will follow at 12:30 p.m.
At 1 p.m., the first pitch will be delivered by CMU President Roger Drake, followed by a pitch by Fayette Superintendent Brent Doolin. The ceremony symbolizes the continued partnership of the two schools, both of which use the baseball field.
The field will see its first action as the CMU reserve team takes on Bible Baptist College at 2 p.m.
