The Central Methodist women's wrestling team finished in sixth place at the second-ever Heart of America Women's Wrestling Conference Championships, hosted by Baker University Saturday morning in Baldwin City, Kansas.

The Eagles finished in sixth place with 24 total points. Grand View won the event for the second-straight season with 136.5 points, followed by second place Missouri Valley College (81.5) and third place Iowa Wesleyan (63.5).

Central's lineup featured four top four finishes including freshman Abigail Jastal (109-pounds), freshman Allison Hynes (123-pounds), sophomore Autumn Barela (136-pounds), and freshman Brianne Whited (143-pounds). Barela finished the day with a final record of 2-2, including a 10-7 decision over Grand View's Alexis Lopez in the 136 pound weight class.

Freshman Brianne Whited also picked up 7.5 team points for CMU with a pair of wins in the 143-pound bracket, both coming via pin.

CMU will next turn its focus to the NAIA Invitational March 11-12 in Jamestown, North Dakota.
