With the Christmas season upon us, buy everything you can locally. Think if you can buy locally  before you jump in your vehicle and spend $15 driving to Columbia. Local merchants may not be able to provide all of your holiday gifts, but they can provide many!

Don’t forget we have the Corner Hardware Store now, check out all they have to offer. Fayette also has two brand name clothes resellers, The Pretty Woman and Tiki’s Closet. They do a great job providing good—new in some cases— woman’s clothing.

December 15 is the Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade and celebration in downtown. The parade starts at 4:30 p.m., the line up begins at 4 p.m. This year’s theme is “A Home Grown Christmas.” Patade organizer Debbie Miller will tell you all you need to know about entering your business or organization in the parade. Her phone number is 248-5223. There are also many businesses that will be open around the square with special promotions or activities. Santa will be in the vourthouse in the county commissioners room. Pastor Jamie Page will provide musical entertainment at the First Baptist Church, with speakers outside for all to hear. The First Christian Church will have food stand on the square. Tea Time Bakery and Fayette Farmers market will be open for business from 2 to 4. Inovatia will have a fire pit with the Fayette Optimist Club serving popcorn and drinks.

Come enjoy “A Homegrown Christmas” on the square December 15.
