The good folks at Commercial Trust Co. in Fayette and Harrisburg are renewing their food drive competition. Separate departments inside the bank are vying to bring in the most donated items that will ultimately benefit the Fayette Food Pantry, and they are asking the community to join in.
“In the spirit of the holiday season, Commercial Trust team members started a friendly competition between our departments to benefit the Fayette Food Pantry,” explained bank president Janet Jacobs. “We invite everyone to bring in a donation of canned goods to help us reach and surpass our goal and support your friends in our Teller, Customer Service, and Loan Departments in Fayette and Harrisburg. We are proud of our community’s generosity and sharing.”
Last year, more than 500 items were collected. The deadline for donations for the competition is Dec. 1. However, anything donated after that will still be delivered to the food bank.
