Ladies of Howard County, the time to sign up for the annual Howard County Fair Queen and Teen pageants is upon us.

The Howard County Fair opens on June 19. The Queen and Teen pageants will be held on Wednesday, June 21. Girls aged 12 to 16 are eligible to sign up for the Teen contest. The Queen contest is open for ladies aged 17 to 22.

So far, no ladies have signed up for either contest.

Contestants in the one-day pageant will compete in three categories: interview, talent, and beauty wear.

Last year’s royalty were Queen Murphy Quint and Teen KatiJo Schaefer.

The winners of the contests will represent the fair throughout the week. The Queen will receive a scholarship in the amount of $1,000. The teen receives a $200 scholarship.

The Queen also is awarded the chance to represent Howard County at the Missouri State Fair in August.

Sam Meyer is in charge of the contest this year. She won the Queen contest in 2018 and went on to be crowned Queen of the Missouri State Fair that year.

To acquire an application, contact Meyer at nelsonsam21@hotmail.com or (660) 833-7288.
