- Howard County Courthouse offices will be closed Thursday until 1 p.m., to allow employees to attend the funeral of Winston Huttsell, a former presiding commissioner.

However, a jury trial had already been scheduled for that day. Arrangements will be made for jurors and others to access the circuit courtroom Thursday morning, said the county clerk, Mark Hill.

- State and county offices will be closed all day Friday in observance of Harry Truman?s birthday, an official state holiday.

Truman?s birthday, May 8, falls on a Saturday this year.
City and federal offices are not affected.
