Sydney Spielbauer, daughter of Brian and Jennifer Spielbauer, is the recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens Award this year at Fayette High School. Her application has been forwarded for competition at the state level.
This award is given to an outstanding senior class member who has demonstrated dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.
As part of the scholarship application, the student must complete an essay within a two-hour limit without the assistance of reference materials. This year’s essay topic was, “Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving it.”
Sydney will receive a certificate, pin and monetary award from Howard County Chapter DAR.
