The City of Fayette on Monday closed off access to DC Rogers Lake and Peters Lake because the roads are saturated and have become impassable. The closures are expected to last until at least Mid-March.
City crews tried to lay fresh gravel on the roads, but their trucks sank into the mud, City Administrator Robin Triplett said Monday.
Due to the closure, there will no brush drop-off at DC Rogers. Both lakes are closed to campers during the winter season. Camping reservations resume April 15.
