Fayette resident, Dennis Nation, age 63, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on August 4, 2022.

Dennis Wayne Nation was born March 1, 1959, in Cooper County, Missouri, a son to the late George and Barbara (Elam) Nation. He graduated from Glasgow High School in the class of 1978. Dennis primarily worked as a mechanic throughout his career. He had many talents, and throughout his life worked in the coal mine outside of Fayette, Monnig Industries in Glasgow, but the majority of his career was with Glasgow Equipment Co. Dennis was a mechanic by trade and by hobby, spending many hours tinkering in his shop when he wasn’t working on other people’s things. He loved rebuilding motors and refurbishing old automobiles, attending and participating in truck pulls and demolition derbies. Dennis loved his dogs and owned a dog breeding business for over 10 years. Dennis was a member of Richland Christian Church and served on the Richland Cemetery Board in Glasgow.

Survivors include his three children, Denise Hall (Michael Frier) of Fayette, Dana and Joe Dodson of Fayette, and Danny Nation (Laci Snider) of Fayette; eight grandsons: Leevi, Christian, Kyler, Laithen, Tucker, Kaleb, Jayce, and Weston; two brothers, George (Theresa) Nation and Kenny (Sharon) Nation; and a sister-in-law, Debbie Nation; all of Glasgow; and a spouse of 40 years, Debbie Nation. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Nation.

A funeral service for Dennis will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Fayette, with Rev. Sandra Enyard officiating. Visitation will take place two hours prior to the service at the funeral home, starting at noon. Private interment will be held at Richland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Dennis Nation Scholarship Fund, benefitting his grandsons who wish to follow in his footsteps and attend tech schools, c/o Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 174 Hwy. 5 & 240 N., Fayette, MO 65248.
