The New Franklin Bulldogs swept the Class 1 District 6 tournament, culminating with a 4-3 win over Pilot Grove in the championship game on Friday. The win marked the head coach Ross Dowell’s 300th victory.
Seeded first in the district, New Franklin defeated tournament host and fourth-seeded Glasgow 10-0 on Thursday to advance to the finals.
The Bulldogs (13-11) move on to the Class 1 State Tournament tonight (Wednesday) to face the Hornets at St. Elizabeth (16-7). The first pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
