Don Henry Haase, 78, of Fayette, passed away on January 22, 2025.
Don was born in Fayette on December 25, 1946, a son of Romeo and Anna Dinse Haase. He earned his BSE Degree in Science Education and a Minor in Agriculture from the University of Missouri. After receiving his degree, Don taught in St. Louis for two years and later at the Fayette Public Schools. After his teaching career, Don returned to the family farm, where he enjoyed making his living on the farm.
Don loved and was loved by his family and especially enjoyed his time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed target shooting and reading. Don was born on Christmas day in 1946, and Christmas was his favorite holiday.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Jeremy Haase of Fayette, Dawn Collyott (Jeremy) of New Franklin, and Heather Haase of Fayette; his grandchildren, Derian Dodson, Hunter Collyott, Colten Collyott and Charleigh Collyott and his niece, Ann Burkle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Holt Haase; his parents, Romeo and Anna Haase; his sister, Erna Mae Burkle; and a niece, Lynn Burkle.
Services honoring Don’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2025, at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin. Visitation will be on Monday from 1 p.m. until service time.
Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association.
