Donates to food pantry

Posted

The Lincoln Public School Committee in Fayette on Saturday donated more than 100 food items to the Fayette Food Pantry. Items were collected by members of the committee. Accepting the donation was Emily Doolin, director of the food pantry.

“The donation is much appreciated in these hard times,” Doolin said.

The food pantry is open the second and fourth Thursdays of the month from 1 to 3 p.m. Due to the holidays, the pantry will be change distribution days to Thursday December 2, and Thursday December 16 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Doolin said the pantry served around 115 families in November, up from 69 in October. The pantry had only 20 turkeys to give out this year. It is also in need of several items for the Buddy Pack program including juice boxes, cereal, and applesauce.
