Fayette resident, Donna Goone, age 81, passed away at The Lodge on July 9, 2022.

Donna Elaine Goone was born April 12, 1941, in Fayette, Missouri, a daughter to the late Benjamin and Dora (Hoffman) Roberts. Donna was a 1959 graduate of Fayette High School. She worked as a legal secretary for the Howard County Prosecuting Attorney’s office and for private practice firms in Fayette and Moberly for more than 25 years. She continued working until her health rendered her unable in 1999. Donna had a longtime companionship with Dr. George C. Bellemere until his passing. They enjoyed numerous ski trips together and playing golf and tennis. They were both members of the Columbia Ski Club. When she was able, Donna enjoyed reading, and doing embroidery and needlepoint work.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie (Rob) Eichelberger of Columbia, Missouri; two grandchildren, Natalie (Tim) Wuest of Columbia, Missouri, and Robyn (Dylan) Connell of Hallsville, Missouri. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Presley, Austin, and Joelle, and a baby girl on the way, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and longtime companion, Donna was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Roberts, and nephew, Jimmy Roberts.

A private family memorial gathering honoring the life of Donna Goone will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or The Lodge.

Arrangements are under the direction of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 174 Hwy. 5 & 240 N., Fayette, MO 65248.
