Eaton’s service honored at retirement reception

George Frink (center) and Danny Drane (right) were among about 100 people who came to congratulate Howard County Presiding Commissioner Lowell Eaton on his soon-coming retirement at a reception held Tuesday. After 12 years of service, Eaton’s last day as presiding commissioner will be Dec. 30. During his retirement, Eaton plans to spend more time on his two farms. His advice to the incoming commissioner: “Run the county like a business. Watch your money.
