Abbey Conrow scored 14 of her 24 points in the first quarter, but the Falcons struggled to score in the middle quarters of a 54-33 loss to Knox County on Monday, Feb. 2.
Fayette led 18-11 after the opening quarter, but struggled to shoot the ball over the next two quarters as Knox County took a 24-20 lead at half and led 38-22 heading into the final quarter.
Conrow was 7-8 from the free-throw line. She made three 3-pointers and had seven of the Falcon’s 11 field goals.
Laci Fuhlage, Jordyn Ball, Sydney Spielbauer, and Kylea Hoover each had two points as Fayette fell to 4-12.
The Fayette boys had a 13-9 lead after one quarter of play against Knox County, but failed to reach double digits in any of the final three quarters of a 56-36 loss on Monday, Feb. 2.
Kyle Schleeter led the Falcons with 12 points. Cale Polson was 7-8 at the free-throw line and finished with 10. Zach Henderson had six points and Tyler Bartholomew added four.
Knox County led 27-22 at the half and outscored Fayette 29-14 over the second half. The Falcons dropped to 8-8 with the loss. Fayette hosts Scotland County for Courtwarming on Friday.
