The Fayette Book Club will host author D. L. Rogers to discuss her work, “Elizabeth’s War: Missouri 1863,” at a meeting on Tuesday, April 20. The program will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Church of Christ Fellowship Hall basement, located at 170 Highway 5 in Fayette.

Rogers resides just outside of Kansas City and is the recent recipient of “The Women in American History Award” from the Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter in Liberty, Missouri. She has a passion for “all things western and related to the Civil War,” having authored several books with this historical backdrop. Following her presentation, Rogers will have books for purchase.

The book, published in July of 2015, chronicles events surrounding Elizabeth Miers and her family during the summer of 1863. Rogers is the author of more than a dozen books, including “The White Oak Series,” which spans more than eight volumes.

The public is invited to attend.
