The Fayette boys and Glasgow girls track teams dominated the 2021 Glasgow Relays on Friday with both teams almost doubling the point total of the second-place teams. 

Fayette took first in the boys’ 100-meter dash with school record holder sophomore Chase Allen-Jackman running the distance in 11.50 seconds, followed by junior Garren Vroman with a personal record of 11.73.

In the boys’ 200-meter run, Allen-Jackman hit a personal record while taking first place in 23.53 seconds. Fayette senior Zach Henderson took third in 24.35 seconds while New Franklin freshman Drake Clark placed seventh at 26.02.

The 400-meter dash was a showcase for area schools as Fayette sophomore Ben Wells cut his personal record to 53.60 to take first place. New Franklin junior Douglas Creason ran a 54.62 time to finish second followed by Glasgow sophomore Ethan Martin at 56.27 in third and senior teammate Trevor Sanders in fourth with a time of 56.57. New Franklin freshman Drake Clark finished sixth at 58.31 and Fayette junior Avery Powell finished seventh at 58.87.

Glasgow sophomore Edris Hamilton took the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.16. Creason of New Franklin finished third at 2:30.30 and Fayette sophomore Tyler Rye took sixth at 2:35.72.

In the 1600-meter run, Miles Himmelmann ran the distance in 6:04.28 to take sixth.

Glasgow took third and fourth place in the 3200-meter run as Hamilton ran a 12:45.72 time and freshman Preston Thies covered the distance in 13:08.05.

Junior Cale Hudson of Fayette took second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 19.15 and earned his first win of the season in the 300-meter hurdles with a personal record of 47.21. Trevor Sanders of Glasgow finished fourth behind Hudson, posting a time of 53.14.

Fayette took the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 44.26 while Glasgow took fifth in 51.97 seconds. 

Fayette also took first in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:36.00. Glasgow finished fifth in this race as with a time of 1:43.94.

In the 4x400-meter relay, Fayette again took first with a time of 4:03.67 and Glasgow finished third at 4:11.92.

Glasgow and Fayette reversed order in the 4x800-meter relay with Glasgow finishing second with a time of 9:56.84 ahead of the Falcons’ third-place time of 10:31.84.

Glasgow junior Christian DeWolfe finished sixth in the high jump with a jump of 1.52 meters.

Chase Allen-Jackman of Fayette took second in the long jump with a distance of 5.79 meters. His teammate, senior Dillan Lembke finished fifth with a leap of 5.18 meters. New Franklin freshman Drake Clark finished 10th by jumping 4.57 meters.

Glasgow senior Trevor Sanders finished first in the triple jump with a distance of 12.92 meters while Fayette’s Garren Vroman and senior teammate Kaden Polson finished fifth and ninth, respectively, by jumping 11.28 and 10.06.

The pole vault was once again won by Fayette’s Dillan Lembke at 3.66 meters followed by Glasgow senior Mason Gouge in third at 2.74 and Fayette sophomore Miles Himmelmann at 2.13 to take fourth.

Fayette senior Josh Henderson finished first in the discus with a toss of 49.07. He was followed in fourth place by Glasgow sophomore Alan Westhues who threw 32.92. Sophomore Daniel Monnig of Glasgow threw 25.60 to take seventh.

Fayette took first and second in the javelin with Zach Henderson throwing 50.60 and junior Logan Wiswall at 34.75.

Josh Henderson took first in the shot put by throwing the shot 14.32 meters. Alan Westhues of Glasgow finished fifth at 9.75 as his teammate Daniel Monnig finished seventh with a toss of 9.45.

On the girls’ side, Fayette sophomore Presslee Sunderland finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.75 followed by New Franklin sophomore Faith Painter in fifth at 14.15 seconds. Glasgow senior Jamila White finished 10th with a time of 14.60.

Painter finished third in the 200-meter dash followed by Fayette sophomore Madison Race in fifth at 29.65.

Glasgow senior Hadley Sanders took second in the girls’ 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.04 followed by junior teammate Malia Carmack in third at 1:05.18. New Franklin sophomore Emma Rice took eighth at 1:12.81.

In the 800-meter run, New Franklin sophomore Carly Dorson took second with a time of 2:49.96 seconds and Hadley Sanders of Glasgow took fifth at 2:57.24.

In the 1600-meter run, Dorson took first with a time of 6:42.83 as Glasgow teammates senior KatiJo Schaefer finished fourth with a time of 6:52.55, and freshman Sabrina Strodtman finished fifth at 8:30.92. Shaefer and Strodtman finished first and second in the 3200-meter run at 14:36.72 and 19:15.65, respectively.

Glasgow teammates freshman Olivia Haskamp and junior Tehya Sellmeyer finished sixth and eighth in the 100-meter hurdles at 21.74 and 23.30. 

In the 300-meter hurdles, Glasgow senior Hadley Sanders took first by running the distance in 52.61 seconds. Her classmate Emma Massie finished fourth at 59.37 and New Franklin junior Dakota Clark took fifth at 1:01.40.

The Fayette girls 4x100-meter relay team took first with a time of 55.36 while Glasgow took fifth at 1:00.38.

The 4x200-meter relay was won by Fayette with a time of 1:57.88 followed by Glasgow in second at 1:58.11 and New Franklin in third at 2:02.44.

Glasgow took second in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 5:58.20 while also finishing fifth in the 4x800 with a time of 13:21.36.

In the high jump, New Franklin junior Dakota Clark took second with a jump of 1.22 meters. New Franklin sophomore Emma Rice took fourth by jumping 1.21 followed by Fayette sophomore Madison Race in fifth.

In the long jump, Glasgow junior Malia Carmack jumped 3.96 to take third while her teammate, sophomore Olivia Fuemmeler, took fifth with a leap of 3.66. New Franklin’s Emma Rice finished sixth, followed by Dakota Clark in eighth place.

Glasgow’s Olivia Fuemmeler took second in the triple jump by jumping 9.75 meters followed by teammate Malia Carmack at 9.45 in third.

Fayette sophomore Leah Lembke won the girls’ pole vault with a vault of 2.13 followed by Olivia Haskamp of Glasgow at 1.83.

The girls’ discus had Fayette sophomore Stephanie Nelson winning with a throw of 29.56, followed by Glasgow sophomore Taryn Fuemmeler in second at 28.35. New Franklin senior Kayce Hundley finished fourth at 23.16 and Glasgow senior Whitney Hackman in fifth at 23.16. New Franklin sophomore Kelsi Fair finished eighth and Fayette sophomore Megan Lewis finished 10th.

Tehya Sellmeyer of Glasgow finished third in the javelin with a throw of 24.38 followed by New Franklin senior Kayce Hundley in fourth, Fayette’s Stephanie Nelson in sixth, followed by her teammate sophomore Megan Lewis in seventh, and Glasgow’s Taryn Fuemmeler in ninth.

Winding up the meet with the girl’s shot put, Fayette senior Breanna Estes took first with a throw of 10.36. New Franklin sophomore Kelsi Fair finished third by throwing 8.53 followed by Glasgow’s Taryn Fuemmeler in fourth with a toss of 8.23.
