After an historic win last Monday broke a 20-game losing streak, the Fayette Falcons were unable to keep the momentum going, falling to Jamestown 17-2.
“We’ve always said this was going to be a process,” said Fayette coach Andy Oeth. “Our friends up the road at Harrisburg have a slogan of ‘7 Hard.’ they have used since since Coach Simpson took over and has been adopted by coach Ackman. All it means is every game, players have to go out and give their very best for seven innings. If we can do that, things will come around. Our guys know if we continue to put the work in, good things will eventually happen.”
That’s not to say it is not hard right now.
Following the loss to Jamestown, the Falcons hosted the Marceline Tigers on Thursday, losing 13-2 before heading to Westran. That trip resulted in an15-1 loss.
Fayette took on Salisbury Tuesday night at home after The Advertiser went to press and will travel to Prairie Home on Thursday for a 5 p.m. game.
