The Fayette Junior Babe Ruth baseball team suffered its worst defeats of the season Wednesday and Thursday of last week, falling to Prairie Home, 20-0, and BTC Bank, 19-7.

Wednesday night, the Falcons gave up two runs in the first before surrendering nine in the second. That deficit, along with the three runs in the third and six in the fourth, was too much for the boys from Fayette to overcome.

Thomas Elliott and Thad Quint each contributed a hit for Fayette, but that was the extent of the Fayette offense.

The Falcon defense was the downfall of the team, with six errors committed on the night. Corbin Tucker, Austin Kunze, Parker LaValley, and Ethan Bean all toed the rubber for Fayette, giving up a combined 11 hits, and 15 bases on balls.

Thursday night started out to be more of the same for Fayette, giving up 12 runs in the first to BTC and seven more over the final three innings. Fayette, however, was able to put seven runs on the board before falling 19-7.

Thomas Elliott and Parker LaValley each had two hits, each recording a double along with Ethan Bean. Nathan Bean, Jacob Wood, Corbin Tucker, and Charles Alexander each had singles.

Alexander, Elliott, and Brodie Tucker each took turns on the mound with the trio giving up 11 hits, 13 walks, and 17 earned runs.

The two losses put the Fayette record at 4-5. Fayette plays tonight against New Franklin at 6 p.m. The boys from Fayette follow that up with a 6 p.m. start on Thursday against Central Realty before taking on KWRT next Tuesday.
