Fayette Main St. awards State Farm facade improvement grant

Fayette Main Street, Inc., on Monday presented a check in the amount of $2,000 to Landon Ball, agent and owner of State Farm Insurance on North Main Street.

The money was from the organizations Facade Improvement Grant program, which helps downtown business owners pay for beautification to their storefronts. The grant will pay up to 50% of the improvements up to a total payout of $2,000.

Ball purchased the building last year and renovated the front half to expand the business. In February the insurance office moved from its former location on the south side of the downtown square.

Renovations included a new awning and paint on the front of the building at a cost of around $10,000.
