A Fayette man who sustained serious injuries as the result of a motorcycle crash on March 30 has died. Larry Koenig, 57, passed away in the hospital on Thursday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Koenig was northbound on Highway 5, between Fayette and New Franklin, about half a mile south of County Road 423 shortly before 4 p.m. when his 2018 Indian Roadmaster motorcycle skidded and exited the right side of the roadway. The motorcycle then returned to the road and overturned, ejecting Koenig.
He was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia.
The Indian motorcycle was totaled and had to be towed from the scene.
Koenig was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the patrol.
