The Fayette R-III school district announced Tuesday morning that students will continue to receive meals on weekdays even though school is closed through March due to efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19. Starting Wednesday, March 18, “grab-and-go” meals, both breakfast and lunch, may be picked up from the school parking lot, or from two satellite locations behind St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayette and the Armstrong Community Center. Meals are not meant to be consumed at the pickup locations.
Pickup times will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Daly Elementary School front parking lot, or from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at the satellite locations. Busses will be parked at those satellite locations with meals available.
Students who want meals but are unable to access the three pickup locations, and those with questions regarding the meal service, should call the school district at (660) 248-2153.
The Buddy Pack program will also continue. Students in the program may make pickups at the regular locations on Fridays beginning this week.
The district hopes to resume classes by April 1 and will make further modifications as the situation continues to evolve.
