Patience was the key for Fayette in a 16-1 win over Jamestown on Thursday. The Falcons drew 15 walks and did not strike out once in 35 plate appearances.
Madi Lawson had one of Fayette’s five hits, and drove in the first runs of the game with a 2-out single to left field in the first inning.
“I took some balls and then there was a strike,” Lawson said. “I hit it, and I got to first base.”
Lawson drove in another run in the third inning to finish with three RBI as the Falcons improved to 12-2.
Breanna Estes had the big hit in the third inning as Fayette put up five runs to go up 11-0.
Three runs came home on the line drive double from Estes, who finished with four RBI.
Leah Lembke had an RBI triple in the fourth inning. Lembke scored four runs for the Falcons.
Abby Nation had a hit, two stolen bases and scored three runs. Bella Asbury drew three walks, was hit by a pitch and had two RBI. Addison Newell was also hit by a pitch and walked three times.
Preslee Sunderland was 1-2 and scored a run.
Jordyn Ball pitched a complete game and missed the strike zone with a pitch just four times in four innings. She needed just 39 pitches to get the win, allowing one run on two hits with five strikeouts.
