Artists and photographers from across Missouri and beyond are invited to enter their works in the 24th annual Fayette Art Show on Saturday, August 2. The show is one of the most popular events at the Fayette Festival of the Arts.
Venues for adults and youth are included in the show. Adult works will be displayed in the Ashby-Hodge Gallery of American Art in Classic Hall on the campus of Central Methodist University. The youth part of the show will be at 116 West Morrison, on the south side of the historic Howard County Courthouse square. Exhibits will be open for public viewing from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Six entry fields are included in the show with monetary prizes and ribbons to be awarded. The fields are Painting in Acrylic or Oil, Painting in Watercolor or Pastel, Drawing in Pen & Ink, Pencil, or Charcoal, Photography, Sculpture, and Varied Media (Computer Art, Fiber Art, Mixed Media, etc.). A special award, The Dale Graham Award for Black and White Photography, will also be awarded.
Adults are judged in one of two categories, professional or amateur. For youth entries, there are three age classifications, Elementary, Middle, and High School, based on the student’s status for the 2024-2025 school year.
All Adult entries will be received at the Ashby-Hodge Gallery of American Art on Monday and Tuesday, July 28 and July 29, between 3 and 7 p.m. There is an entry fee of $10 for each work submitted.
Youth entries not picked up from schools will be received at the Howard County Public Library on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 29 and July 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no fee for youth entries.

Sponsored by the Fayette Area Heritage Association, the Fayette Festival of the Arts is one of the foremost summer celebrations in Mid Missouri. In addition to the Art Show, the festival features musical performances, vendors, food, activities for children, a classic car show, and a cake contest and auction.
The ever-popular Peacemakers Quilt Show, this year titled “All Things Bight and Beautiful,” will be presented in the sanctuary of Linn Memorial United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
