Fayette High School students are celebrating Courtwarming all week. The annual event culminates with the crowning of the King and Queen during halftime of the boys’ basketball game Friday night.
Senior basketball players and cheerleaders are eligible to be elected King or Queen by fellow students. Queen candidates are Breanna Estes, Virginia Claire Alexander, and Kylea Hoover. King candidates are Cody Hilgedick, Zach Henderson, and Kyle Schleeter.
Students participate in fun activities throughout the week with different themes each day. Tuesday was Thrift Store Day where students wore mismatched clothing. They wore workout attire for Let’s Get Physical Day on Wednesday. Thursday is True Colors Day, where students wear class colors. And Friday is Black and Gold Day.
The annual dance that follows Friday’s games has been canceled due to the ongoing pandemic. In addition, only ticket holders will be allowed into the games.
